A new picture is made for the Multi Picture Project. This was something that kept me up until 2AM last night, and only had time to finish it off this evening.
Anyway, insanity is a hard subject to discover, as it covers more in the ground of having a criminal mental illness. It's hard to think of a character in a situation like that, but I came to a decision to tackle Ripper Roo, one of the bosses in the Crash Bandicoot series of games.
Sure, he may be a little maniacal to some, but the backstory for him shows that he was one of Dr. Cortex's failed experiments, as he barely has a clue as to what he was doing, jumping everywhere and completely destroying any scenery that comes to him, so he placed him in a straitjacket to prevent him from causing further damage. I see him as a cruel monster locked into a hard restricting garment, unable to show his vicious colors because of his eternal prisonment whether inside or outside.
And to think, this could be what might have happened as Cortex went on to develop more cronies. Because of his actions he's been mainly unable to see the outside world without any further training, hence he'd even be gone as far as to be trapped in chains while inside the confinement. I see it to be as one of the worst case scenarios for the criminally insane, being trapped in that kind of predicament. But who knows?
Either way, for something that took me a while to do I'm really proud of it Maybe it's the fact that it's my first attempt at ever drawing Ripper Roo, or that I ended up making some kind of twist like this, but I actually feel really pleased about this kind of effort. He needs another main role in the series especially in this generation, and even here I'm not sure if his cameo in Twinsanity during Crash's "birthday party" even counts.
But still, I hope this isn't the last time I drew him. This was really fun
Ripper Roo is a Crash boss, and therefore is in a series as licenced over by Vivendi Games.
Maaaaan do I miss seeing this guy around... How his insane cackle allways brought a smile on my face! ^^
Nice capturing of him in his rotten cell. It's good work for a first try at him too... ^^ I pity the poor foo who has to change his food and whatnot... xDDD
And now I'm somewhat inspired to draw Crash again! :3

Ripper is one of my fave Crash villains. His insanity yet intelligence mixed into one makes me interested in him. Even though he was a failed Cortex experiment, the fact that he was able to create books and becomea professor tells me he's trying to regain his sanity in the world. Nice attempt ar Ripper. ^_^ He's pretty cool.

You never see that much Ripper Roo art, yet in my opinion, he's one of the better bosses...
Anyway, you've done a very lovely job on him, Rexy! You've caught his psycho personality very well, and the chains he's strapped to help emphasize his insanity. And, the background is drawn very well too! Such a lovely job with the picture itself, and the coloring too!

That's a good drawing of him. I like how you drew his long tongue. Nice job on the coloring. ^^
